Relationship Counseling and Therapy for Children, Adolescents, Parents, and Families.
About Me
I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I provide family counseling and therapy for children, adolescents, parents, and families. I received my Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my predoctoral internship while working within the Rose Tree Media School District providing therapeutic services at Penncrest High School, Springton Lake Middle School, and Rose Tree Elementary School. In my post-doctorate work, I provided therapeutic services for the Hatboro-Horsham School District. I have also provided counseling services at Wissahickon School District, Wyncote Academy, The Y.A.L.E. School, New Hope Academy, Milestone Academy, and several charter schools in Pennsylvania. I currently provide counseling services at Center School and Torah Academy. In my private practice, I provide therapy for children, adolescents, parents, and families throughout the Philadelphia Metropolitan area.
My Therapeutic Approach/The Client-Therapist Relationship
I believe in creating a safe, warm, accepting, and empathic relationship with my clients as the foundation for therapy. Children and families are often unsure about what to expect from therapy, and feel vulnerable about being judged. I work to ensure that all clients feel respected, valued, and truly heard in the time we spend together. I see children and families as co-collaborators in treatment. Therapy offers new resources and can give children and families new skills and perspectives to improve the quality of their daily life and their relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is designed to be a practical, goal-oriented approach to therapy. It focuses on the interplay between a person’s thoughts, behaviors, feelings, and environment. Changing any one of those elements can lead to changes in the others.
